Chocolate Chip Cookies


If you are looking for an easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe then you have stopped at the right place. This is my favorite recipe. With all the ingredients usually on hand - I can whip up a batch of these anytime my family or I want one.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe | Yield: approx 2 dozen (50g each)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) Unsalted Butter (room temperature)

  • 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar

  • 3/4 cup (170g) Brown Sugar

  • 1.5 (75g) Eggs

  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Vanilla Bean Paste

  • 2 1/2 cups (300g) All-purpose Flour

  • 1 teaspoon (5g) Salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) Baking Soda

  • 3 cups (450g) Chocolate Chips

  • 1 cup (125g) Chopped Walnuts


Preparation Steps:

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.


Step 2:

In mixing bowl of stand mixer fitted with paddle blade, on low speed, cream butter and both sugars until light and creamy, approximately 3-5 minutes.


Step 3:

In increments, add eggs, beating between each addition. Add vanilla.


Step 4:

Sift together, flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.


Step 5:

Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.


Step 6:

Using a scoop, portion the dough onto baking sheet approximately 2" apart. Chill dough in refrigerator for 30 minutes then bake approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.



Chefs Notes:

  • I prefer to use a mix of white, milk and white couverture chocolate chips.

  • Walnuts are optional. You can substitute your favorite nut or just omit.

  • I usually do not bake my cookies immediately. Instead I portion, freeze and bake as needed. If baking from frozen, add a couple extra minutes to the baking time.
